Congratulations go to Emily Esposito and Todd Renfree for qualifying for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singaore in August.

Emily finished 6th in a very stong field with the first four places going to China and the fifth to Korea. A really commendable effort in a very stong field. She was particularly impressive in the pool recording a 10second PB in winning her heat and recording the 4th fastest time. She was equally impressive in the combined event again finishing with the f4th fastes time.

Todd started slowly in the fence but came home very strongly to record 804 points. After a disapoiting swim he started the combined event with a 45 second lead over Bevan Dobbs from New Zealand. With some impressive shooting and fine running he was able to stretch this to 56 seconds and thus secure the oceania mens place for Australia,

Both athletes handled the presure of the competition well and will make fine ambassadors for australia and the sport in August 2010.

Oceanic Championships will be conducted from 23/24 Jan 2010
Details are as follows:

Saturday 23rd Ride 12noon – Five Star Equestrian centre, Cranbourne

Sunday 24th Fence 9.00 assemble/warm up – North Melbourne Football club – Arden St. North Melbourne
Followed by Swim - Greensborough Pool
Run/shoot – Diamond Valley pistol club.

Sunday Relay event commencing at 9.00

Sunday after the competition – Dinner in Lygon St., Carlton

Congradulations to Ed Fernon and Charlotte Curnow in winning the mens and womens Australian Winter Championships respectively. Both are competing at the World Junior Championships in July. We wish them well.

Congradulations to Angie Darby and Charlotte Curnow in comming 10th and 12th respectively at the Asian Championships.
Angie's 10th place means that she has qualified to compete at the World Championships in London. While Charlotte is competing in the World Junior Championships in July.
